Paris Saint-Germain Triumphant in Champions League Opener Against Borussia Dortmund

Mbappé and Hakimi Lead the Way in 2-0 Victory

PSG Dominate Second Half for Crucial Home Win

Paris Saint-Germain commenced their UEFA Champions League campaign with a resounding 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. Following a goalless first half, Kylian Mbappé broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 49th minute. Achraf Hakimi then extended the lead in the 58th minute with a superb solo effort.

Despite boasting an impressive home record against German opposition, PSG struggled to find their rhythm in the opening stages. Dortmund created several promising chances, but the PSG defense held firm. The introduction of Mbappé as a second-half substitute proved to be a game-changer.

Within minutes of his arrival, Mbappé's electric pace and trickery proved too much for the Dortmund defense. He drew a clumsy foul inside the box, allowing him to convert the resulting penalty with ease. Just nine minutes later, Hakimi put the result beyond doubt. The Moroccan defender embarked on a mazy run from the right flank, skipping past several challenges before firing a powerful shot into the far corner.

Dortmund pressed for a way back into the game, but PSG's defense remained resolute. The victory gives the French champions a significant advantage heading into the second leg on March 8. They will be confident of securing their place in the knockout stages with another strong performance in Germany.
