WEB UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley quickly found his son Andrew Thursday night at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
Drew Hurley, son of Huskies coach Dan Hurley, will enroll at UConn and join the program as a walk-on.
Andrew Hurley is a 6-foot-2 guard who played his high school basketball at St. Thomas Aquinas in New Britain, Connecticut. He was a three-star recruit and was considered one of the top 100 players in the state of Connecticut in the 2022 class.
Hurley averaged 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game as a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas. He helped lead the Saints to a 26-4 record and a berth in the Class LL state championship game.
Hurley is expected to provide depth to the Huskies' backcourt. He is a good shooter and passer, and he is also a solid defender. He is expected to compete for playing time behind senior guards R.J. Cole and Tyrese Martin.
The addition of Hurley to the Huskies' roster is a sign of how much Dan Hurley believes in his son's ability to contribute to the team. Andrew Hurley is a hard worker and a talented player, and he is expected to be a valuable asset to the Huskies this season.
