How Did Darth Maul Survive Getting Cut In Half

Darth Maul's Resurrection: An Iconic Villain's Return

The Return of a Fan Favorite

Darth Maul, the menacing Sith Lord from "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace," met an untimely demise at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the movie's climactic lightsaber duel. However, in a surprising twist, Lucasfilm later retconned Maul's death, revealing that he had survived being cut in half.

The Clone Wars' Revelation

The animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" played a pivotal role in Maul's resurrection. In the show, it was revealed that the Zabrak's will to survive had kept him alive on the planet Lotho Minor. Maul's body had been gruesomely transformed, with cybernetic implants and a shadowy, spider-like appearance.

A New Mission

Returning to the galaxy, Maul sought to exact revenge on Obi-Wan Kenobi and become the leader of the criminal underworld. His path led him to Mandalore, where he encountered the former Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano. Maul's machinations ultimately led to the Siege of Mandalore, a pivotal battle in the Clone Wars.
